Medals UK was commissioned to produce the Royal Armoured Corps Training Regiment Military Medal in 2017. The custom medal was created on behalf of the Royal Armoured Corps to recognise their Training Regiment.
The regiments of the Royal Armoured Corps form the core of the British Army’s Mounted Close Combat (MCC) capability. The 10 Regular and 4 Reserve regiments are descendants of the famous cavalry regiments who rode into battle on horseback and of the Royal Tank Regiment, who manned the very first tanks during the Great War (World War 1).
In whatever role they are operating, every regiment of the Royal Armoured Corps takes enormous pride in the history and traditions of its forebears, to serve with fortitude, initiative, style and flair. This is reflected in the inscription on the reverse of the medal which reads “Do as you ought, not as you want. Think to the finish. All of one company.”
The 50mm medal has been commissioned in an antique sliver colour with enamel finish.
