HMP/YOI Northallerton Case Study

ENQUIRY

HMP Northallerton called our offices to discuss the possibility of producing a commemorative coin to be presented to the staff employed prior to closure of the establishment. HMP Northallerton has stood in the city centre since 1783 employing over 200 employees, both directly and contracted members of staff.

ACTION

In discussion we identified the coin specification required, however the actual design of the coin proved a little more challenging. Unfortunately, HMP Northallerton did not have a high resolution image of the prison service crest and the images provided did not emphasize the detail of the crest sufficiently. To overcome this obstacle an original hat badge was sent, allowing us to digitally scan the crest and produce a virtual coin image for the client’s final approval.

Clients feedback

“The closure of this prison establishment came as a huge blow to all staff and members of the general public. The prison has been part of the Community for well over 200 years and it was difficult to decide what commemorative gift we could give the staff to recognise what we have achieved collectively as a team over the years.

I found the website on the internet for UK medals and was really impressed with the products on offer. We commissioned the art work through the same company to ensure that the badge crest was good enough quality in terms of resolution.

I was so impressed with the Art work and knew that it was exactly what I was looking for. On receipt of the final product I was delighted with the outcome. Extremely professional and well presented. The coin was beautifully manufactured to an excellent standard and worthy of such an important and historically significant occasion.

All staff were so grateful for this gift and I would strongly recommend the use of this company and service.

Thank you”
