Since then the James Blacklock Dux Award Medal has been awarded annually for outstanding academic success at a prize-giving ceremony attended by Hamilton Grammar School’s pupils, their parents, staff and friends. The medal measures 50mm is produced in gold and features a semi-proof finish.

The 2017 Hamilton Grammar School James Blacklock Dux Award Medal was presented to Janika Popova and the pupil’s achievement was celebrated in the Daily Record and Hamilton Advertiser.
