The Edinburgh Sir Walter Scott Club treasurer contacted us with a common dilemma. They had a quantity of medals produced some years ago which they wanted to reproduce however the original manufacture had ceased trading. The club wanted to produce the Sir Walter Scott Award Medal with the exact same specification as the current stock, but wanted to refine some of the text on the reverse design side.
Based on the last order of medals, which was some time back paperwork and designs etc. were not available. Therefore, the client sent a stock medal. This allowed the design team to digitally scan both sides of the medal and re-create the images. The image on the reverse design was then altered for the client’s approval. In conjunction, the actual physical sample was assessed to determine the specification. Once the final specification, designs and quotation had been approved by the client production on the Sir Walter Scott Award Medal commenced.
